Tues June 22 - Kuta

I am staying at Sari Yasa Samandra Bungalows in Legian St, for 100,000R per night - hot water, air conditioning, TV etc. It's very nice, but so it should be at that price (note: no pool).

My fave place - Aquarius - is too full for me! This is my 2nd night here, but apparently there should be a room for me there tomorrow, so I'll be waiting for their call and packing up tonight.

I can hear a little mozzie near my head somewhere but do you think I can find the lil bloodsucker? Not a chance!

Last night I met Michael (from a travel internet site) at Tubes and we had dinner at his recommendation : Taman Sari Cottages (across from Tubes). The food was not cooked right, I ordered Nasi Goreng: the rice was dry, but it still tasted edible, just a bit bland (the chicken satay was yum). Michael ordered something else and his rice was so dry that he asked them to bring in a replacement. And that was the start of the evening.

He was ok, but he had this attitude that they (the locals) should be treating him special because he was a tourist and I dunno.. I was just a little embarrassed to be associated with him when he made some of his comments. I guess that's why you don't meet up with people from the internet ;) - Nah, that's not true, Ama was awesome and he was from the net !

After dinner and dessert (banana pancake for me, chicken satay for him) we said our goodbyes as I was friggin tired from my long day and lack of sleep, and wanted to nap before going out, so I said that I might meet up with him at Apache Reggae later. It was about 9-9:30.

I woke up around midnight but felt like death, so went back to bed and slept til 8:30am! I got up and had breakfast (3 pieces of toast and 2 fried eggs) but I still felt so weak and tired, so I went and lay back down - and didn't wake up until around 1pm.

I then decided that something must be wrong, so I forced myself to go for a walk to get some water and redbull. I felt a lot better after the walk, so went for another walk up the street looking for cheaper accommodation. Found some "YUCK" accomm so decided to stick to my chance of getting into the Aquarius again. Bought some more DVD's which brings the tally to over 200 now.

Received some messages on my phone from Jupri and decided to go and meet up with him for a chat. I took him to the Aquarius so I could eat a healthy vegie dish to try and build my strength up. Ate Gado Gado (mixed veg with satay sauce) and an Avocado Juice, both were delicious (as to be expected from the Aquarius). Jupri just had an Avocado Juice.

We then went for a walk down Popies 1 & 2 so that he could show me where all the locals buy their DVD's :) Although still 10,000 for Tourists, it was the best place - much bigger selection to choose from and 10,000 is still cheaper than most other places. After I had bought about 25 more DVD's, one of the guys walked me to his music shop where I bought a bunch of MP3 disks which apparently are the video cd types, where the movieclip plays .... Unfortunately I couldn't get it working on the hotel TV, I'm hoping its me and that TV, and not the disks!

(I'm at home now - and it's the @(O* disks! hehe)

That friggin Mozzie is making me paranoid.. can't stop itching my feet, my neck, my head.. etc..

Had a Bali Cider at my fave "street bar" (Art Goes) on the way back, but I was sitting next to an annoying Canadian, so I made it a quick one and headed back here to spend a night watching those mp3/vcds - pity they didn't work. Instead, I showered, used an Avocado hair mask for about an hour, and put the TV onto the Bali channel, and watched the Balinese do the Borong Dance to my "Pop" mp3's ;)

It's approx 2am, guess I should start packing for checkout tomorrow and then get some sleep...
