13th June - Sunday

Got up around 8:30, still bloody tired though. Nick said yesterday that I gave him the flu, but as I didn't feel sick, I assumed he got it from his tendency to share his drinks with everyone, but perhaps I have it slightly since I feel so tired. Either that, or it could just be the heat or my restless sleeping habits.

Today I had breakfast with Fred. A banana pancake drizzled with honey and a scrambled egg.

I then dropped some laundry in, and went for a walk to the mardihadi (ugh, can never spell it right) shopping centre.

Then I went for a walk to Putra's DVD shop - the first guy I bought DVDs from when I first got to Bali, opposite the Flora Beach Hotel. Rocky (Roni) was happy to see me, and Junior (staff of Flora) spotted me and came over to confess his love (he was only joking). He also invited me to his village to watch some of my dvds, which I brushed off at the time, but it sounds alright. I'll see how the following weeks go.

I then walked to Supernova to buy a portable walkman, cos I'm missing music like crazy, but all the electronic shops were closed (it's Sunday!). SO I'll try tomorrow.

Shopping took up most of the day. I bought some more DVDs on the walk home, and made them play all of them before I paid ;)

It was 4:30 by the time I got back to the Hotel. I had a shower, changed clothes, and went for a walk for food. I'm sitting at TJ's restaurant - a mexican place which comes highly recommended by all.

And it was a really nice change. About 36,000 for a meal though, so I won't be doing it again. The atmosphere and food were really good though.

I then walked to the beach to watch the sunset. I met another Wayan, who told me about how he lost his Australian girlfriend at the Sari club. His story was so sad. He told how they fell in love, and were planning to get married in 1 month, and they went to the Sari Club, he went to go buy some cigarettes, and came back and saw bodies all of the place, people on fire, everyone screaming for help, begging for help. He searched desperately for his girlfriend, he eventually found the black remains of her :( He didn't know what to do, so he sat down and held her dead charcoaled body, and got her skin and body bits all over him. Man, I just didn't know what to say. He said he wanted to kill the terrorists, but the police held him back.

I watched the sunset, then found this internet cafe, so now I'm all caught up...

I'll be in Kuta just a couple more days, then I'll head back to Ubud.
